Day 6: Salt Lake City
We Began our long drive down to Salt Lake City from the Grand Tetons. We took the route 1 shown on the photo below. This route was crazy filled with wild cows on the highway. If you are feeling a little adventurous take route 1. If not, route 2 may be more comfortable to drive.
We slept in Ogden in Utah which is located right above Salt Lake City and began the next day by visiting the Utah State Capital Building. We parked our car behind the building and explored our way downward.
After exploring the Capitol Building, we walked down N State St. towards the Temple Square. We checked out all the Halls, Monuments, and Temples then made our way towards the City Creek Center to grab some coffee.
We then veered off to explore some neighborhoods to see how people live in the area as we worked our way up back towards our car.
The Capital is on top of a hill so you may want to Uber back to the car.
Largest Costco in the World
We stopped by at the Costco to get some gas and check out the inside. Yes, it is massive but nothing unusual here. It’s just… Costco.
Worlds First KFC
Had to stop by and see the world’s first KFC. Just… had… to… cross… this.. off… the… list… We ordered some hot wings and devoured the chicken. Service was great and the chicken was delicious!
We were planning on visiting the Antelope Island State Park but we were kind of tired from all the exploring and wanted to reserve some energy for Zions hike. So off we go to La Verkin in Utah!
